Avaal Technology celebrates the completion of its 37th Successful Batch in the Dispatch Specialist course

26 Apr 2009

Brampton, ON -- April 26, 2009 -

AVAAL Technology, leader in logistics solutions in the GTA, has announced the graduation of its first batch of students for the Trucking Logistics Specialist diploma program. This program covers the full supply chain and logistics management process, and all modes of transport including rail, ocean, road and air. Students acquire the knowledge necessary to design and implement strategies to economize logistics integration between divisions in a large organization. In addition, students are trained in the necessary problem solving and analytical skills that prepare them to efficiently process large volumes of data and utilize effective decision making techniques to contain problematic situations. Co-op assignments at partner companies in the logistics industry round out the program, providing students with valuable real-world experience. Graduates from the Logistics Specialist diploma program are: George W Rakobowchuk, Jaspal Bains, and Nishad Kulkarni.

AVAAL has experienced remarkable growth in its Dispatch Specialist program. The course has successfully graduated about 600 students, and continues to gain tremendous momentum throughout the trucking industry. Today Avaal celebrated the latest graduation ceremony for the 37th batch of students to successfully complete the course. The graduating students took part in a 40 hour program where they experienced both classroom and actual hands-on job training to prepare them for their future careers. The course modules introduce innovative techniques to effectively launch and operate small to large scale trucking companies with an emphasis on strategic business management. Key modules include freight matching, route optimization, border crossing, and obtaining freight contracts. Graduates from the 37th session included: Jasvir Banwait, Kuldip Dhandwar, Vikas Loomba, Mehmood Khan Durrani, Jacob Sam, Harjinder Bhuller, Amandeep Singh, Narinder Sohal, and Ramanjit Singh Gill.

Featured speakers for the ceremonies were: Melroy Coelho, TransCore Link Logistics Corporation; Brenda Grant, Trucknews; and Ranvir Chuhan, Asian Connections. Dr. Ranvir Sharda presided as MC for the event.

After the ceremony, students and guests were served lunch by Avaal staff and participated in a group photograph session.

AVAAL has always promoted the vital importance of training to all levels of any organization involved in freight and logistics activity. The company continues to believe that training is a worthwhile investment in good times and bad. With the economic chill being felt across the business world, a properly trained staff will be essential to any business survival strategy. Today AVAAL celebrates the launch of its Freight Forwarding Fast Track training course, with the first session starting May 2, 2009. An “open house” preview and orientation was scheduled for today, where visitors had the opportunity to view presentations on the major topics covered in this course; such as details of logistics operations including documentation requirements in transportation by road, rail, water and air; warehousing, international trade, customs clearance, insurance, import-export documentation, and marketing.

The course was developed at the request of freight forwarding professionals following concerns about the critical international skills shortage in the supply chain and logistics industry.

This innovative approach to training has been designed by industry professionals and focuses on face-to-face interaction in a workshop format. This delivers an invaluable learning environment for participants through case studies that will improve skills and understanding that can be applied quickly and confidently to improve bottom line performance when the student returns to the workplace.

AVAAL is a recognized Private Career College by government of Canada and students may be eligible for government assistance.
