Students will explore the concept of efficiently planning, implementing and controlling flows of materials from their point of origin to the point of consumption, and their significance in the overall supply chain management process. This module will examine the overall aspects of logistics, including some of the techniques and strategies for planning, organizing and managing the overall logistics processes including the functional areas of forecasting, inventory management and customer service.
The concept of information systems and their vital role in the logistics environment will also be explained, with a focus on their utilization as a tool for overall customer management.
